Welcome to La Aventura

C. de Ibiza, 52, Retiro, 28009 Madrid, Spain

General Info

Tucked into the lively Retiro district, La Aventura feels like one of those Madrid restaurant spots that people end up recommending after a surprisingly memorable dinner. The location on C. de Ibiza puts it in a convenient part of the city, especially for anyone exploring nearby streets packed with cafés, bars, and local food places. From the moment the menu arrives, the experience leans into bold flavors with a modern twist while still keeping things approachable and relaxed.

One of the first dishes that stands out is the Mix de Croquetas de Cecina Y Kimchi. The combination sounds unusual at first, but it works incredibly well. The smoky depth from the cecina blends naturally with the subtle spice and acidity of kimchi, giving the croquetas a richer flavor than expected. They arrive crispy on the outside and creamy in the center, making them easy to share but difficult to stop eating. Another dish that deserves attention is the Burrata, which brings a softer and fresher balance to the table. Its creamy texture pairs nicely with the stronger savory options on the menu, creating a more complete dining experience.

The Steak Tartar Tradicional Con Encurtidos Caseros feels carefully prepared rather than overly complicated. The homemade pickles add brightness and crunch without overpowering the meat itself. It tastes balanced, fresh, and confidently executed. Meanwhile, the Tacos de Cochinita Pibil bring a different energy to the table with slow-cooked flavor and tender texture wrapped into a casual format that still feels refined. It is the kind of dish that keeps the overall menu dynamic instead of repetitive.

Dessert also leaves a strong impression. The Tarta de Queso de Cabra has a creamy consistency with a slightly tangy finish that makes it memorable without becoming too heavy. It feels like a natural ending after several bold savory plates.

Beyond the food, La Aventura maintains a comfortable and practical setup for visitors. Takeout service is available, which is useful for anyone wanting restaurant-quality food at home. NFC mobile payments make the process quick and convenient, and free street parking nearby is another advantage in this part of Madrid. Guests should note that there is no wheelchair accessible parking lot and no wheelchair accessible restroom available.

What makes reviews for La Aventura so positive is the way the restaurant combines creativity with comfort. The atmosphere stays relaxed, the menu remains interesting from start to finish, and the flavors feel intentional rather than trendy. It delivers the kind of dining experience that lingers in memory long after leaving the table.

What customers say?

“ We came to this little gem to celebrate. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly fast and efficient staff. Whatever you need they can provide. Very traditional Spanish food that is of the highest quality and delicious. In particular the octopus was mouth watering. The Iberian pork also is something that will blow your mind. You don't have to wait too long for your food and it comes out delicious. If you're looking for a very good quality meal then you should come here ”

“ Cosy environment, international food. We were recommended by a friend and decided to try on my mom's birthday. When we arrived it was full inside and had to sit outside but it was somewhat warm. Croquetas de cecina, although unlike normal croqueta, it's square shape, the taste is quite traditional. With home made bachemel, my parents also liked that. But have to say that , 2.5€ each croqueta is a little bit over priced. Lubina , it was filet of fish fried , paved with a so called false pasta but actually it's tiny seafood cooked with soy sauce. As an Asian, I'd say they used too much soy sauce which is too salty..But the fish is crispy and I liked it Lasaña with seafood. Another abnormal dish, actually it's better than de boloñesa for a light evening dish. Mini burger, it's really tiny tiny tiny, in the photo you can have an idea when it's compared with the little round bread...I'd say the size is just like 100 montatitos but charged for 5€ Carrillada, if you are a classic man and have a classic stomach, don't miss this one 2€ each for bread In a word, the waiter is very nice and the food will refresh your paradar if you are looking for this. ”

“ Creative / fusion / international food. Well cooked and presented. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Probably overpriced for the size of the portions. ”
